i just read in the 11/1/03 wt an article entitled cultivate a giving spirit.
never have i seen the society so unashamedly extend its hands in search of more money.
i'm going to let the article speak for itself.
I guess a lot of this is due to the fact they want a new printing press with a $5 mil price tag. Expensive toys = need more funds.
But yeah, this is surprising. What'll be even more surprising, is a lot of dubs won't give this article a second thought. After all, you can't go against the lying hypocrites "faithful and discreet slave class" now, can you?

i had my surgery on the 15th.and life was hell.the doc found the rotater cuff had started to rot.yummy.he had to cut a large bone spur that had actually cut into the cuff causing the rip.then he found my clavical bone was being distroyed by arthritis, so the bone was partially cut away.i was in surgery 2 hrs.i am still recovering and on pain meds.lots of meds.i am just checking in .i hope you are all well and safe.kls

This is an excellent post Scooby Snax. The reason I stopped studying is because I think the dubs are too black and white. Conversely, we don't have to have the same mentality they exude; we don't have to think they are all bad.
I only studied for about two years, and I did meet some cool people.

The WT Society's main strength (doctrinally) is DISPROVING illogical things taught by other religions, such as Trinity, hellfire, limbo, etc.
But I like limbo, even though I'm not very good at it because I can't duck down that low.

Like others said, it makes perfect sense. After all, Protestants got their name by protesting against the Catholics hundreds of years ago. The JWs are essentially doing the same thing against mainstream Christianity.
